COPA Economic Impact Studies

The Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) has commissioned several studies which illustrate the significant economic impact of general aviation and community airports.

"Economic Impact of General Aviation in Canada 2017" identifies general aviation as a diverse industry including all civilian air operations other than scheduled passenger service.  General aviation encompasses private and business aviation, flight training, medical evacuation, charter flights, and cargo transportation and provides essential support for a wide range of industries.

"Canadian Community Airports Profile" expands on the earlier study by assessing the social and economic impacts of community airports and reviewing best practices at airports which have embraced the value of general aviation.
