2024/2025 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OBJECTS of NWTFA
The objects of the Northwest Territories Flying Association, as contained in our Constitution, are as follows:
Since 2012, NWTFA has served as the local chapter of the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (“COPA”) through its designation as COPA Flight 108. As a national advocacy body, COPA’s mission is to advance, promote, and preserve the Canadian freedom to fly.
- to establish and promote general aviation facilities and services in the Northwest Territories;
- to host flying and safety programs pertaining to general aviation operations throughout the Northwest Territories;
- to engage in advocacy efforts to preserve, promote and advance interests of the general aviation community and the freedom to fly in the Northwest Territories;
- to establish and promote the Northwest Territories as an “aviation friendly” environment and to support and promote aviation tourism in the Northwest Territories;
- to preserve and promote the rich aviation history of the Northwest Territories; and
- to serve as COPA Flight 108, being a local chapter of the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association.

BYLAWSNWTFA is a society incorporated pursuant to the laws of the Northwest Territories. Matters relating to the administration of NWTFA, including membership, election and duties of directors, meetings, and financial oversight, are governed by our Bylaws.
action plan 2024-2025NWTFA has adopted a 2024-2025 Action Plan to direct its initiatives and activities over the next two years and to report progress over the past two years. Key objectives include the promotion of aviation tourism in the Northwest Territories and the improvement of general aviation facilities and services in Yellowknife.
