aviation weather conditions and forecasts

Aviation weather services in the Northwest Territories are provided by NAV CANADA.  Aviation weather information is available online through the NAV CANADA Aviation Weather Web Site (AWWS).  Flight Information Centres (FIC) also offer interpretive pilot briefing services (PBS).

Aviation weather information available through AWWS includes coded and plain language surface weather observations (METAR and SPECI), aerodrome forecasts (TAF), pilot weather reports (PIREP), weather charts, satellite and radar imagery, weather cameras, and NOTAM.   Services accessed through the FIC include consultation with flight services specialists for fully interpretative weather briefings, NOTAM and flight planning.
