PLACES TO FLY: WILDBREAD BAY
Wildbread Bay is located on the East Arm of Great Slave Lake within the Thaidene Nene National Park Reserve. The profiled site is situate approximately 128 nautical miles east of Yellowknife.
This site is a sandy beach in a large bay near the west end of Wildbread Bay. It offers expansive views of Wildbread Bay and the surrounding cliffs but is exposed to wind from all directions. The vegetation is typical of an old burn area with abundant deadfall and fireweed. Small lake trout and arctic graying can be caught from the rocky point adjacent to the beach. Activities within the Thaidene Nene National Park Reserve, including aircraft access and fishing, are subject to rules and regulations managed by Parks Canada.
