The wilderness of the Northwest Territories offers unlimited opportunities for outdoor adventure but areas which receive significant use tend to accumulate litter and debris over time. NWTFA has identified remote site clean-up as a means by which our organization can make a positive impact to preserve and protect the land for the enjoyment of everyone. NWTFA is partnering with Unsmoke Canada / The Great Outdoors Fund to conduct an Unsmoke Canada Clean-Up this summer! For more information on the Unsmoke Canada initiative to tackle the problem of trash in the wilderness, refer to its press release announcing 2022 partners. NWTFA is proud to be the first and only group in the territories. Planning for the NWTFA clean-up will commence shortly with a preliminary scouting trip. After suitable sites have been assessed and sites selected for clean-up in summer 2022, one or more fly-out work parties will be organized to collect and remove trash. |
